The novel?On publication of each digital edition, the author engraves on chain the SHA-256 fingerprint of its master EPUB file (AEDE:livre:<fr or en>:<fingerprint>). It proves this text existed at that date; it gives no advantage in the hunt. Here the bookshop shows this engraved fingerprint next to that of the master file each copy is drawn from.

The seeding

Not seeded yet.

Each cry reveals its random value on chain (OP_RETURN “AEDE:cri:n:…”), about one hour after the second riddle of its chest. Thirty days after its cry, a chest not yet taken receives a strong hint; six months after, a second hint. The solution is published only once the chest is taken, in a message signed by the author, which is checked against the commitment engraved at seeding.

Payouts

Each quarter, a transaction carries “AEDE:registre:YYYYQ#:root”: the Merkle root (RFC 6962) of the copies sold.
